this space have been neglected due to work.
work has taken its toll on me.

every morning getting up at six-thirty and getting on the rather packed train cabin.
and then changing to another train to get to my workplace.
somehow everyone tends to walk super quickly in the morning.
anyway, these have become a routine.

work are gradually going well except for occasional hiccups.
after being in this job some time, i recognized the fact that we cant please everyone even more now.
but its comforting when you meet someone nice.

speaking of which, i met two honest & nice strangers today.
sixty dollars slipped out of my pants pocket and they must have seen it.
they ran after me and asked if i have dropped any money.
that was then i realised that my money had slipped out of my pocket.

this is the second time it has happened.
the first time i wasnt so lucky. i never recovered the money.
i lost twenty bucks.

if it wasnt for the two nice ladies, i would be sixty dollars poorer.
anyhow its time for me to hit the sack. ever since i started work, i cant seem to stay awake past midnight. but there are some rare occasions such as tonight.
with this, i end my post.

goodnight world.

im in love;
with rachel yamagata’s reason why.

today is amber’s birthday.
he would be fifteen years old.
it’s been two years nine months and you’re still in my thoughts.

perhaps i should learn from my good friend who channel all
negative thoughts into energy and work at it.

+

so, i will head out alone, hope for the best
we can pat ourselves on the back
and say that we tried
and if one of us makes it big
we can spill our regrets
and talk about how the love never dies
but you and i, you and i, you and i know the reason why.

Perseid-Meteor-Streaks

A Perseid meteor streaks through auroras above Colorado in 2000

The Perseid shower is expected to reach its peak at 1730 GMT on 12 August, but dozens of meteors per hour should be visible on the nights preceding and following the peak. The best time to catch the shower may be around 0900 GMT on 12 August, when meteor numbers may get a slight boost as the Earth passes by an additional stream of debris left by the comet in 1610.

Sadly I did not manage to get to see any shooting stars but I did see a cockroach scaling up the wall outside the window. Wow the National Day weekend went by so swiftly and it is already mid-week. I am, however, still unemployed (due to some issues HP has). Waiting is a tiring game.

On National Day, I saw a long queue of cars queuing to get discounted fuel at Shell. I would say, the queue was at least two metres. In my opinion, it’s plain crazy because I don’t think it’s a lot cheaper than usual. If everyday you use less of your car and walk (if it’s of near distance), you would be able to save too! I guess that’s the singaporeans’ “spirit” – you queue i queue.

Our pretty blue planet earth is dying and yet people are still oblivious and not doing their part in joining the eco-community. Here are some suggestions in ways you can play your part in saving our mother earth & also save on your electricity bills from me to you:

  •  Take public transports/cycle/walk (preferably choose walking because walking is beneficial to your health so what’s there not to like yeah?)
  • Use the fan more often and less aircon if possible (like during the monsoon months where the weather is generally cooler plus it helps in saving your electric bills also!)
  •  Turn off all power ports when not in used  (save your bills toos!)

If you didn’t know the above points stated, congrats to you.
Intelligence +1 !

Fun Fact:
The bomb dropped on Germany in WWII killed the only elephant in Berlin Zoo.

I got the job! Yeah I’ll be working for the government. Im looking at committing myself there for two years. It will be my stepping stone at this big organization. Starting work next monday so I left exactly one week to bum. boohoo bumming days are soon to be over. oh well, all good things must come to an end.

I have just sorted out my Citibank receipts and filed them properly into my notebook. Haha these are long overdue tasks! Also, I just updated my adium to the latest version. So, you know what that means? It means that I can finally see my friends’ subnicks and see the number of friends online in their respective folder. Thats neat:)

These few days I have been busy shopping for working shirts and pants. Good thing it’s GSS now or else I will be so broke because everything in sg is so expensive. I only paid 39$ for the mango pants I just last week. (usual price was 79$) I also bought a pair of formal working shoes but I would need another pair of shoes because there is a need to rotate shoes. Cant possibly always wearing the same pair everyday. I am looking at getting the pair of shoes from Geox (yes, the shoes that breathes).

Even before I start work, I have already like done my sums. Haha like how much I should set aside for food & transport, how much I am giving my parents per month, how much I am saving per month etc. Well, I like to plan things ahead in general:)

Last but not least, the next item on my shopping list is a name card holder! (so I can keep all my friends name cards)
Welcome to the working life, G.
